FRPA 2018 is just around the corner and the Earth Networks Team is ready to go!
You’re probably getting your last-minute travel plans ready, too. As you scan the exhibitor and speaker lists to plan out your days, don’t forget booth #130! We’ll help you make the most of your time in Orlando by scheduling a meeting with our weather experts now.
That way, we can go over a free weather safety consult with you at a time that works best and help learn what it would take to set up your park with the best lightning and severe weather protection plan possible.
There are a ton of reasons why you should protect your parks from severe weather threats and natural disasters. Each year, severe weather is an extreme threat to people enjoying outdoor activities. Lightning, rain, wind, and hail are all common severe weather threats that compromise guest safety and infrastructure at parks and recreation facilities.
While lightning strikes seem rare that’s simply not the case. According to the National Weather Service, lightning strikes the Earth’s surface anywhere from 20 to 25 million times per year. In the U.S., about two-thirds of all lightning deaths are associated with recreational activities.
We don’t say these things to scare you; we say them to help you prepare. The best way to mitigate weather-related risks at your park is to prepare for them. Take a few minutes to meet with our experts at FRPA and assess your weather safety.
